“I now have a father. Master Hui Li is my new father, and the nanny in the Centre is my new mother. I am so grateful!” These are the words from the child at ACC Centre. It shows that ACC care system enables children to feel the warmth of a family again, and taking on responsibilities and obligations in a group environment.
The schools in the Centres follow the education curriculum of individual government. In addition to the National and English language lessons, Buddhism studies and Chinese language are also being taught. The children not only learn about their African heritage, they would learn about the wisdom of Buddhism teachings and be enriched by Chinese culture. The ACC hopes the children would develop a sense of global perspective, the empathy of the world and grow up to be independent where they contribute back to society and break the poverty cycle in Africa. We believe that a long term educational policy could cultivate the mind, thereby changing Africa and the world.
